Hanging helical metal stair
Etika Helical Staircase: sculptural suspension in a historic building in Milan.
Located inside a prestigious historic building in Milan, this Etika model helical staircase perfectly balances engineering precision with visual lightness. Its structure rises vertically through an innovative suspension system: vertical stainless steel cables, anchored to the slab at each step, give the staircase an ethereal, almost floating presence.
The design is tailored to blend seamlessly with the elegance of its surroundings, favoring soft, continuous lines. The curved vertical support band, tapered like a sharpened blade, draws the eye upward, while the rounded steps, free from sharp edges, enhance the sense of fluidity. An additional internal convex ornamental element follows the spiral in perfect stylistic coherence, contributing to an overall impression of organic movement and formal harmony.
This staircase is more than a functional element: it’s an architectural presence that enhances the space with subtle elegance, engaging in a dialogue between classic context and contemporary expression.
