Helical metal stair of Daniel Libeskind's Citylife Residences

This Etika model spiral staircase has been custom-designed for a prestigious penthouse within the prestigious residential complex CityLife in Milan, designed by architect Daniel Libeskind. Made of waxed natural metal, Etika is distinguished by the presence of curvilinear elements on the central structure, which accentuate its organicity and formal elegance. In order to make the whole even more coherent and fluid, an additional element has been created on the ceiling: three radiated blades, cut to design, which radiate with precision and lightness from the central hinge.

The supporting column was built around a pre-existing pillar, skilfully covered with stainless steel sections and equipped with integrated lighting, which enhances its architectural profile and structural function. The end of the central propeller has been shaped with a free, almost sculptural shape, to underline the uniqueness of this realization. Also in the arrival catwalk to the loft, the choice was clear: keep welding and grinding visible to enhance the authenticity of the material and the craftsmanship of the intervention. A staircase that interprets the language of design with rigor and sensitivity, becoming an integral part of the architectural vision of the entire space.
